Surprise!

Sorry for the lapse in posting, but things have been busy. My parents came into town last weekend and we spent a few days with them out in Midway (will post about that later). Cody and I had to come back to work on Wednesday, so we left Joshua with my parents so they could get some more time with him.

I've discovered that it's really hard to be away from him! Cody and I took a trip to St. George last year for our anniversary and left Joshua with my mom, so I figured this wouldn't be hard at all...but it's different to be at home and have Joshua not there. Coming home from work, walking in the door, and not seeing him at the top of the stairs and eager to tell me about his day (Mommy, I built a train!)...it's rough.

Like a lot of parents, I occasionally let Joshua play with my cell phone. It's a touch screen, and he's learned how to access pictures and videos, plus he'll sometimes explore and do things like change the name of my daily alarm. Anyway, I was looking through my phone yesterday and came across something that cracked me up. While editing my address book, I found that he had assigned a picture to one of my friends. What made me laugh the hardest was the expression on his face--it's almost like he's saying, "Haha, Mommy! Look what I did!"
It totally made my day and made me miss him even more. I just love this kid. Can't wait to see you tonight, Joshua!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

It's an old picture, but you get the idea.

Happy Birthday to my dear, sweet, wonderful Cody, my husband and father of my child. Thank you for loving me, for supporting and lifting me when I am down, and for being a great daddy. Joshua's cries of "Happy Birthday, Daddy!" have been so fun to hear around the house all day! Let's hope the marinade works out for this salmon and we have a scrum-diddlyump-tious dinner tonight, and that we enjoy having a Sunday night together, free from work and other cares :)

A shameless plug...

Hi everybody, Cody here. So, I was checking out CNN.com this morning when I saw a rather interesting statistic regarding an article by Stephen Hawking. It's not the title of the article that is fail, I couldn't care less about that. It's the number of shares... Click here to see what I mean...

So I guess this means atheists from other planets subscribe to Dr. Hawking's theories too, eh?

Thanks!
