Summer is upon us, and with our trip to Texas coming up next week, we decided it was time to give Joshua a summer haircut...and boy, did we ever! We borrowed Cody's grandpa's hair clippers (these things are ancient...the receipt in the box says 1968--but hey, they still work!) and went at him. Here are the before pictures: And now for the after pictures:Yup, it's definitely short and will take some getting used to, but we like it. It makes him look older, and we won't have to worry about combing it that much anymore! Plus, it kinda makes him look even more like his daddy, don't you think?
Yup, he's a cutie! I just can't get over how much older he looks. I keep needing to cut Betsy's, but I just haven't come to terms with losing my baby...
Saw your note on Shara's blog, and hey, I'll watch Joshua if you guys want to go to the movies! Just let us know.
The haircut did take a little adjustment on my part, but after a week at the reunion, I say he looks like a cute little man, and is such a sweet little guy! We adore Joshua.
"Playing footsies with mommy, oh yeah!" (ask us if you want the context here)
"Here, Mommy, let me help you get up, because you don't know how to get up with a baby in your tummy."
Joshua: "Mommy, I love you." Mommy: "I love you, too, son." Joshua: "ANGRY BIRDS!!!!"
(After falling off a swing at the park, he starts whimpering) Mommy: "Come here, Joshua, and tell me the story." Joshua: *climbs up on my lap, then sniffles* "Um, once upon a time, I was on the swing..."
"I gotta tell ya somethin'."
"I'm doing the I love you sign! I'm still doing it! I'm still doing it!" (which he shouts as we exit his room at bedtime)
Mommy: "Is London (girl at daycare) your girlfriend?" Joshua: "Yes, and Nicky (boy at daycare) is my boyfriend."
Mommy: "Do you know who is coming over tomorrow?" Joshua: "Yes, I do!" Mommy: "Who?" Joshua: "What?" Mommy: "You just said you know who is coming over. Who is it?" Joshua: "I don't know."
Mommy: "It's a party!" (because my sister and brother-in-law were in the car with us when I picked Joshua up from daycare) Joshua: (looking out the window) "Aww, I missed it!"
"Mommy, the sun is coming up to say hello to me!"
Grandma says: "I love you, Joshua." Joshua responds: "No, you don't! Mommy and Daddy love me!"
"Mommy, can my pet watch TV?" (referring to a large smiley-faced metallic balloon)
Grandma says: "Talk about your mixed metaphors!" Joshua says: "Not my mixed bananaphores!"

He does look older and much more like Cody. I like the new look. He's getting so old :)
How was he during the haircut? My kids scream the entire time. Lovely!
